Publication FEE

Our journal has consciously chosen not to seek public funding or display advertisements on its websites. This decision is essential to preserve our autonomy and ensure full editorial independence. To cover the expenses inherent to publishing activities, we have adopted a funding model in which authors themselves contribute through the payment of a publication fee.

It is important to emphasize that the idea of free publication is a misconception: there are always costs involved, which are ultimately borne by someone—either by authors or by taxpayers in the case of public funding.

The publication fee is calculated based on several factors, including fixed monthly costs, variable expenses, and necessary investments. The main expenses include website hosting, hiring qualified professionals (journalists, lawyers, librarians, IT specialists, Data Protection Officers – DPO, accountants, among others), DOI registration (in US dollars), communication services (internet and telephone), text proofreading and layout, marketing, software subscriptions, acquisition of equipment (such as laptops), as well as taxes (federal and municipal) and registrations in indexing platforms and directories.

The  Journal clarifies that there is no charge for the initial submission of articles. However, after acceptance, a publication fee of R$ 299.00 (two hundred and ninety-nine Brazilian reais) applies to authors from Brazil, and US$ 200.00 (two hundred US dollars) applies to international authors. We also note that post-publication corrections are subject to an additional fee of R$ 200.00 (two hundred Brazilian reais).

Payment methods: Authors from Brazil
