Patent Publication Guidelines — CSRV21 Journal

The Patents section of the CSRV21 journal is intended for the scientific and technological dissemination of inventions, utility models, and innovative processes with academic, social, or industrial relevance. Its objective is to increase the visibility of protected research outcomes or technologies under protection, fostering integration between science, technology, and innovation.

1. Scope

Manuscripts will be accepted that present:

  • Technical descriptions of patented technologies or technologies with filed applications;

  • Studies on application, experimental validation, or impact analysis;

  • Reports of technological development linked to academic, research, or industrial institutions;

  • Reviews on patent landscapes within a specific technological field.

2. Submission Requirements

The manuscript must meet the following conditions:

  • The patent must be granted, published, or have a filed application with an official office (e.g., INPI, WIPO, USPTO, EPO);

  • The text must not violate industrial secrecy or confidentiality agreements;

  • The patent or application number, country/office, and status must be provided;

  • Authors must demonstrate involvement in the development or study of the technology.

3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should include:

  1. Title of the technological development

  2. Patent identification (number, holder, country, and status)

  3. Abstract (150–250 words)

  4. Keywords (3 to 5)

  5. Introduction and technological context

  6. Description of the technology or invention

  7. Development or validation methodology

  8. Results and potential applications

  9. Technological, economic, or social impact analysis

  10. Final considerations

  11. References

4. Formatting

  • Accepted languages: Portuguese, English, or Spanish

  • Recommended length: 8 to 20 pages

  • Citation style: journal standard (e.g., APA or ABNT)

  • Figures, diagrams, or flowcharts may be included when necessary

5. Review Process

Manuscripts will undergo peer review considering:

  • Originality and technological relevance

  • Clarity of the invention description

  • Methodological consistency

  • Application potential and impact

6. Ethical and Legal Aspects

  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the information and compliance with intellectual property laws;

  • The journal is not responsible for ownership disputes;

  • Conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

7. Technological Contribution Statement

Authors are encouraged to include a brief paragraph describing:

  • Their role in the development

  • Institutions involved

  • Funding sources (if applicable)
